Vonage If I understand you correctly, you should have a DSL plugged into the RT31P2 into

If I understand you correctly, you should have a DSL plugged into the RT31P2 into the WRT54GP2. Is that correct? Now, you have 3 wired computers to plug in. OK! let's do this one by one.

1. Shut everything down and unplug. Disconnect all Ethernet cables. The DSL, the Phone Adapters, the computers, everything.

2. Plug the "Ethernet Out" on the DSL into the "Internet" jack on the RT31P2. Plug a cable from a computer "Ethernet" port into "Ethernet" jack 1 on the RT31P2. Plug another cable from your next computer into "Ethernet" jack 2 on the RT31P2. Plug a remaining cable from the "Ethernet" jack 3 to the "Internet" jack on the WRT54GP2. Plug the telephone into the RJ-11 "Jack 1" on the RT31P2.

3. Apply power to the DSL and wait 5 minutes for it to Boot Up. Next, power up the RT31P2 and wait 5 minutes for it to boot up. Then power up your PC's.

4. Unless you have special requirements for the RT31P2, such as PPPoE password requirements or Static IP addressing, you should have that dial tone. If you do not, don't continue, we will have to try an alternate plan.

5. At one of your PC's, start up a browser and in the address field on top enter: http://192.168.15.1 and press "Enter". The User Name is ADMIN and the password is ADMIN. Make sure that the "Internet Connection Type" is set to "Obtain an IP Automatically" (unless your ISP says otherwise). Click the "Administration Tab" and enter a password.

6. Type into the address field Http://www.linksys.com/registration and press "Enter". The installation is complete.

7. Now to the WRT54GP2. Install a cable from your remaining PC's "Ethernet port" to one of the 3 "Ethernet" jacks on the wireless router. Power up the WRT54GP2 and wait 5 minutes for it to boot up. Then power up your remaining PC. In the same way as in step 5 type, http://192.168.1.1 and press enter. Follow the steps for the web-based utility exactly as in step 5.

You should be all hooked up and ready to go. We will have to troubleshoot if this set up does not work.

The MAC address takes care of itself, nothing to worry about unless you want to change it.

Mike
