I would take your WRTP54G and plug that directly into the dsl modem then go from there to your BEFSR41. If your BEFSR41 is touching the data first that is just adding more latency and could result in the poor quaility of service.

I have a Sonicwall Wireless router and when i had it setup like yours i got very poor quaility with phone calls but I did what i mentioned above and now the quaility is perfect.

DSL Modem -> WRTP54G -> BEFSR41 -> other devices
