I was able to get to an error page when trying to log in that gave me the name of the application server software they are using for their website. It is called Resin, which is an open-source application server, which means that they have no service-level agreements with any 3rd party that would be able to help them get this fixed. Also, the version is 2.1.11, which was released in 2003, and is now a number of revisions behind. I understand the "if-it-ain't-broke" mentality for leaving it as is for so long, but it would be nice to know that they are trying to keep their back-end software as up to date and functioning as possible. As an IT professional, this does not give me a "warm and fuzzy" feeling...
Well, it seems that their systems are starting to come up again. I am logged in right now, but some screens are still failing. They may have had to migrate the application to new servers, but without a status site to let the consumer know, who knows what they are doing!!
