Vonage I've had the same setup for over 2+ years with no problems with sound quality on

I've had the same setup for over 2+ years with no problems with sound quality on my Vonage/FIOS setup. Last week the audio started dropping out for a split second and then got progressively worse.

If I reset the V-Portal - the sound quality would be great. Any calls made within about an hour of the reset were fine. But after about an hour the audio dropouts would happen. And it seemed that the audio drop out duration would get longer the longer the V-Portal was on.

My original setup:
Fios ONT -> DI-624 ->V-Portal, then I had other computers connected to the other ports of the DI-624.

I've worked with Vonage over the weekend, spent about 8 hours with various 'fixes' and nothing worked. We replaced all the cables, tried a new V-Portal, etc. Still the same issue, after about an hour the audio would start to drop out.

Last night the 'advance' tech had me configure the V-Portal to be directly connected to the Fios ONT (via PPPoE like the DI-624).

Now the audio quality has been great for about 8 hours - BUT my internet speed maxs out at 7Mbps (or MBps can't remember) - but I'm paying for 20M up / 5M down.

Read a few threads on here and it seems you guys (and gals) are much more knowledgeable - so looking for ideas.

After reading one post I'm going to try and hook the V-Portal back up to the DI-624 with nothing else connect and test, then slowly add back computers.

On a side not, maybe just a coincidence - but this all started after I installed BackBlaze to backup my main computer - it was sending a chuck of data up to their servers. I thought this may be the issue so turned off that computer totally and reset the V-Portal - but the audio drops came back. I did have Verizon reset the ONT and they said all their tests came back as ok and the account wasn't 'limited' because of the increased traffic from BackBlaze. I've since uninstalled BackBlaze and ensured all the processes were no longer active/running.
