I've had my WRTP54G for about 5 days now. Unfortunately, I didn't read any of the reviews of this unit on the forums before I purchased, and I am now kicking myself for laying my hands on the box. Aside from the usual problems, such as 1-way calls every now and again, my WRTP54G has just decided to stop working alltogether. Posts on Linksysinfo.org show that I am not alone.
A firmware upgrade was pushed to me yesterday morning without my knowledge, and I have not had a working router since. The router will reboot, come online for about 4-5 seconds, then reboots again. I have tried manually resetting the modem in a myriad of different boot stages; none work. The firmware just does not work with the router.
If there is a way I can trash the firmware, then it would be usable. But as far as I know, I can only update the firmware on a stable box.
*sigh*
Vonage seemed like a good idea there for a while. It's a shame this product has to cause so many sour experiences.
