Vonage I've had Vonage service for just over a year, and am using a Motorola phone adapter,

I've had Vonage service for just over a year, and am using a Motorola phone adapter, an older Linksys 802.11b router, and a Comcast cable modem. I've been looking to upgrade my home network with a new wireless G router, and I noticed that CompUSA and other retail stores are offering great prices on a Linksys combination G router and Vonage adapter, the Linksys WRT54GP2........but only for new Vonage customers. If I want to purchase it, I'll pay much more than just a Linksys wireless G router without the adapter!

I wrote Vonage support and they confirmed that any special pricing or rebates are only for new accounts. Existing customers get.....to refer other customers; that's the only promotion available to us captive customers. :(

Why are existing customers always left out in the cold??? This basically means that my full pricing is subsidizing Vonage's marketing effort to gain new subscribers. I am not pleased.

Comcast just started offering their own Voip service in my area and are offering a combination router free. Looks like that's the only way to get promotion prices on new equipment for existing customers. Loyalty apparently does not exist within Vonage.

I'm seriously considering switching to Comcast just to upgrade my equipment.

Does anyone know of a place offering the Linksys WRT54GP2 combination router/adapter at a greatly discounted price? Most stores that I have asked tell me that their deal with Vonage prevents them from offering any price breaks other than for new Vonage accounts.

Thanks!

Before you get all excited about the P2, consider buying a regular WRT54G or GS
