I've been at the office for 12 hours straight today trying to fix our network, and I'm just completely at a loss. I've pored over every thread here I can find, experimented with every suggestion at least once, and still no dice.

==============================
THE BACKGROUND: Phone quality has been excellent, computers could connect to the internet just fine, so last week I decided to get a networked printer and NAS for the office to help improve productivity a little bit more.

Which led to...

THE PROBLEM: I can't get our printer or NAS to be assigned an IP address so the computers can access them.
==============================

==============================
THE EQUIPMENT:
1 Motorola SB4101 Surfboard Cable Modem
1 Linksys WRT54G Wireless Router
2 Linksys RT31P2 Phone Router things (for 3 phone lines)
1 PC running WinXP Pro
1 PC running WinXP Home
1 HP Laserjet 1320n networked printer
1 Synology ds101g networked storage
==============================

==============================
THE CONFIGS:

WRT54G - The WRT54G is set to pull its IP from the modem, local IP set to 192.168.1.1, DHCP is enabled, and in "Advanced Routing" it's set as a Gateway. Remote admin is enabled on Port 8080.

Primary RT31P2 - The main RT31P2 currently has a static IP in the WRT's subnet (192.168.1.2), IP address of the WRT is set as the default gateway, and DHCP and NAT are both disabled. Remote admin is enabled on Port 8081.

Secondary RT31P2 - The secondary RT31P2 currently has a static IP in the WRT's subnet (192.168.13), IP address of the WRT is set as the default gateway, and DHCP and NAT are both disabled. Remote admin is enabled on Port 8082.
==============================

==============================
THE TESTING:
I've tried having both RT3's pull IP's from the WRT's DHCP server; it worked fine, but the problem still remained. I also enabled RIP on both RT3's...again, no real changes to networking but no success on the printer issue either.

I figured I needed some static routing and tried that based on one thread, but nothing there either.

The WRT hands out addresses fine to the two computers, so they connect fine to the internet and I can also pull up the admin interfaces to all 3 blueboxes. I just can't figure out how to get the WRT to talk to devices connected on the RT3s.
==============================

==============================
THE TOPOLOGY:
please forgive the ASCII art...

Motorola SB4101 Surfboard Cable Modem

=> WAN/Internet Port, WRT54G (192.168.1.1)

=> LAN 4 – PC w/ WinXP Home (auto)

=> LAN 3 – PC w/ WinXP Pro (auto)

=> LAN 2 – WAN/Internet Port, RT31P2 (192.168.1.2)

=> LAN 3 - empty

=> LAN 2 – Synology ds101g (auto)

=> LAN 1 – HP Laserjet 1320n (auto)

=> Phone 2 – primary Vonage fax

=> Phone 1 – primary Vonage phone

=> LAN 3 - empty

=> LAN 2 – empty

=> LAN 1 – empty

=> Phone 2 – empty

=> Phone 1 – secondary phone
==============================

It's a little shy of midnight so I'm finally giving up for the day :? Anyone have any suggestions? (please)

[edit: shrunk the horizontal topology size, didn't realize ASCII would make such a mess :)]

Wow, great post, awesome detail. You've thought of doing most of the stuff I'd
LBA: As navydavy2001 stated, this is truly an excellent post. I wish that
Thanks to you both. After spending as much time on it as I had, I wanted to make sure
The only problem with using static routes is that a lot of software only searches
I can tell you what it is doing. But I can't tell you why it is doing it. But I can
