I used my primary line for faxing for the last two years and really never had to many problems. Occassionally I would have drops but not to the point that it was an annoyance. I DID just add a dedicated fax line yesterday because I am working from home and need to be able to receive faxes automatically 24/7 from my clients. I use my computer for faxing and I didn't like having to manually receive each fax because it meant I had to be here. I did not like leaving it in automatic receive when I left because it would answer every call and drive my folks crazy who live on the other side of the country - costing them LD charges.
