I went to network settings of the local area connection, then the next screen into the TCP/IP properties, then from there into advanced.

Another thing that might help. I was on vacation and plugged into Telecom Alice in Southern Italy, the same problem, Vonage modem wouldn't work in the loop (either would the internet connection.) and this was during the time I was using Vonage in Rome at my other apartment with Fastweb.
So to summarize: Vonage worked in Rome with Fastweb, went on vacation and plugged into Telecom Italia, it didn't work. I came back to Rome, and it worked again perfectly on Fastweb.
Let me know what else I can get a shot of, if this didn't do it.
