I'm very surprised that you are having quality issues with a T1. Just for clarification, are you having a T1 coming into your house? If so, are there any other "services" being offered by you like a website etc? I'm thinking about a possible bottleneck in your setup that is causing disruption for your phone service. Another solution might be to give priority to your vonage device over other devices so that when you are on a phone call, your vonage will get first dibs. it might help if you give us some network info and also some more info about your T1.
