I'm sorry to hear about your frustration. How about we start from scratch?
Step1:
Try using your Vonage line without being on the computer. Or you can also try removing the router from the equation. Like: cable modem <> Vonage adapter. Make sure to turn everything off first then power on when everything is connected. Place a test call from your cell phone and see if you can hear choppy outgoing audio from your Vonage line.
If it's clear on both ends then follow the next step:

Step2: Add the router in the equation (power everything off first then turn back on when connected)
cable modem <> router <> Vonage adapter - No computers yet
Place another call from your cell to your Vonage line.
Did this work? Is audio clear on both ends?

Step3: Apply QoS settings I gave you earlier. Make sure that outgoing settings in QoS should be set to Zero. As far as your inbound goes, you're going to need to tweak this depending on how much bandwidth you're using as shown in the Vonage bandwidth saver in the website. Once saved, place another call and verify audio then proceed below.

Step4: Add the computer to the scenario. Upload anything to the internet like a huge file ex. 12MB. This should give you enough time to test while it runs. During upload place another call. Tweak the QoS settings until you hear perfect audio.
