Vonage I'm returning my WRTP54GA today or tomorrow after having it a week. My access

I'm returning my WRTP54GA today or tomorrow after having it a week. My access to the internet through the WRTP54G would, too, appear to just die. I was rebooting the unit once every 8 to 24 hours, sometimes 2 or 3 times before it would connect again via PPPoE (sometime PPPoE wouldn't connect regardless if I pressed [Connect] button, sometimes it would but Vonage VOIP wouldn't connect - I found leaving the unit unplugged for >15 seconds worked the best). Linksys tried to help with configuration suggestions, but ultimately it finally appeared to be something with the WRTP54G other than configuration. Linksys suggested new firmware (my WRTP54G was running 1.00.18) and said that Vonage was responsible for the firmware and that I would need to get it from them. But Vonage didn't respond to this problem so I am returning the WRTP54G as it appears I am at an impasse. My old connection was: Flowpoint ADSL modem -> Linksys BEFSR41 (PPPoE with Satic IP) -> Linksys PAP2 (for Vonage VOIP) ...and it was solid - no problems, ever - internet or VOIP (and the BEFSR41 is a few years old). I can't remember if I ever power cycled them. I've put that configuration back in place. When the problem occurred, my internet connection would first get horribly slow and eventually VOIP would drop and eventually I wouldn't be able to log into the WRTP54G's admin. Pings to the outside world and the WRTP54G itself (192.168.20.1, no hops) were horrible. When WRTP54G is working fine: Reply from 192.168.20.1: bytes=32 time=1ms TTL=255 Reply from 192.168.20.1: bytes=32 time=1ms TTL=255 Reply from 192.168.20.1: bytes=32 time=1ms TTL=255 Reply from 192.168.20.1: bytes=32 time=1ms TTL=255 Reply from 192.168.20.1: bytes=32 time=1ms TTL=255 Reply from 192.168.20.1: bytes=32 time=4ms TTL=255 Reply from 192.168.20.1: bytes=32 time=2ms TTL=255 Reply from 192.168.20.1: bytes=32 time=1ms TTL=255 When WRTP54G is flaking out: Reply from 192.168.20.1: bytes=32 time=2395ms TTL=255 Reply from 192.168.20.1: bytes=32 time=26ms TTL=255 Request timed out. Like I said, I dealt with this for a week and threw in the towel today. It seemed to me without Vonage's support I was stuck with this problem if I wanted to use the WRTP54G. I'd would like to know if you ever get a resolution to your symtpoms. Regards. - Jay
