I'm also from the Ottawa/Gatineau area. I noticed even with companies like Primus, you can not get 819 numbers for the Gatineau region only for sherbrooke. They assume that if you are living in the Gatineau region, that you would take a 613 area code number local to the Ottawa region as it is also local to Gatineau.

Yes this sucks, but I dont believe there is any other option then taking the 613 number from the Ottawa side As I believe Sherbrooke is long distance to Gatineau.
