Vonage I just signed up for Vonage and transfered my phone number which took 3 weeks. Now

I just signed up for Vonage and transfered my phone number which took 3 weeks. Now I that my number has been transferred I wish I did not switch. I have optimum voice for a few years and had no issues but since switching my TV service to Dish Network the cost on my phone service went up $5 so I figured I would just switch to Vonage since it would be cheaper.

There in NO Call Waiting w/Caller ID working although I was promised it was included when I signed up. I submitted a ticket and I get the following response:

"I understand you are experiencing issue with your Call Waiting Caller ID service. Currently, it is a known issue with the device model TI Motorola VT2442 and the issue is currently being worked on by the vendor. Please note that the Call Waiting feature is one of the free features available with our service. Vonage does not charge separately for this feature. I apologize for any inconvenience that may have been caused."

I send a reply that the VT2442 is not a new unit and its been around for a while so I want to know when a fix would be available and I get the following response:

"I understand you are unhappy to note Call Waiting Caller ID fails to display on phone. Since vendor is working currently to fix this issue, If possible I would recommend you to purchase a device form any retail outlet. After purchasing the device, you have to register its WAN MAC address with Vonage."

So Vonages solution to my problem is for me to go and buy a different adapter from a retail store? What kind of support is this? Why did they sell me a unit that does not work in the first place?
Another thing I don't understand is their statement that, if you purchase another caller ID unit that you have to register its WAN/MAC address with Vonage.

I have two Directv HR20 DVRs with caller ID with name(and call waiting with Caller ID with name) and I never had to register their addresses with Vonage.

Have you asked to be put through to a higher level of support in New Jersey?

The Pakistani/Indian idiots may be reading from an OLD support script that is really outdated.
