I just reset to factory voice defaults and it still has the same problem. I used the router when I first got it to check it out and it worked fine. It killed my bandwidth to the point where popular websites like msn would time out. So I removed it until I could figure out my problem.
A friend who I referred the Vonage service to pointed out the bandwidth control so I thought I'd give it another shot. So I plugged it back in and everything works - except when dialing any phone number there's a wait then a busy signal. I can receive calls fine, just can't dial out anywhere. Just an hour ago I had the ability to call local but not any more.
Anybody have any ideas of what went wrong and how to fix it? Maybe there's an automatic long distance deactivation that takes place if you don't use the service in a while? There's no settings in the online account set up or the router for shutting off long distance, only international.
UPDATE:
Now I have to edit it to say that all phone calls now don't work. All I get is a busy signal.
UPDATE 2:
I guess it's time to buy a new phone...
I plugged another phone into my router and it works fine. I plug the original back in and it doesn't work so it looks like a new phone is in order. Are there reasons some phones won't work? It works fine in my regular phone jack for my old service.
