I just recently installed my parents with the VT2442 adaptor on Vonage, they have a 2mb down 256kbps up cable modem, and their service is so clear and wonderful, even when my dad is downloading old music and movies. I have the RT31P2 with Vonage, and am on an ADSL 8mb down, 448kbps up and the voice quality is ok, but can be very scratchy at times. I too think Motorola VT2442 handles the vonage service better than the Linksys RT31P2.........or maybe its just cable versus ADSL, who knows!!
