I highly recommend NOT using your VTech 8100 as your network router. I have this same phone with 3 wireless handsets and you will not be happy with the performance using that as your network router.

Instead, I use a D-Link DI-724U wireless router which provides QoS. I have been extremely pleased with the QoS feature built into this router and I can now use my phone and the internet at the same time without issue. Just plug the 8100 into one of the ports on the D-LInk and your done. No special ports to open or anything.
