On eBay, for example, you can buy a Vonage device for less than retail. When you get it, call Vonage, tell them the MAC address (have it plugged in as your primary router, your existing Vonage device doesn't need to be the primary router to work).
Vonage will help you add the new device to your list of devices, and on the website, you can move a number yourself from one of your own registered devices to another. This is a GREAT feature of Vonage (one of many). It's on the Add-ons, Move-a-number part of the website. You can pick a number and move it to a different device, even change ports if you wish.
PS: I didn't leave Verizon to get Vonage, Verizon is all wet on that claim against Vonage, at least for my business.
