Vonage I have spent hours on the phone with Vonage tech support. We have tried all variations



I have spent hours on the phone with Vonage tech support. We have tried all variations with no change in service. The latest attempt is the replacement of the P2P to the VTA-VD - No change but I do like the extended configuration ability in the VTA-VD (D-LINK) as to the more restrictive configuration in the P2P (LINKSYS).

Configuration - Scientific Atlanta cable modem (Comcast) to Linksys (WRT54G v8) router from there the pc (port-1) set to 5Mb max and the VTA-VD (port-2) set to 2 Mb max (my service is 6Mb - 10Mb with push - WRT54 v8 is port forwarding to VTA-VD ports (10,000-20,000) also have rtp service set to (premium) in the event I am doing something else on the network, the Voip gets priority.

We have tried all configurations even flashed the WRT54G v8 firmware with dd-WRT GNU firmware for QoS options which were not available on the WRT54G v8.

Have tried the P2P right after the Cable modem same issues.

Turned off all QoS - realizing it is only required when other activity is on the network no change.

The Comcast service has not been troublesome over the past 13 months but for the past two months it has been a real issue with QoS - I have contacted Comcast several times. The last correspondence with them advised me they would look into and respond by phone call in 24 hr but that was tree days ago.

I am moving soon and seriously wondering about my ISP options will be in a residential area and not apartments - I posted a survey with the hope of real feed back and helpful for those setting up an ISP account or changing ISP account.
