Vonage I have had the most difficult time trying to make everything work together that

I have had the most difficult time trying to make everything work together that has to do with my phone line but now I have it all figured out! I am NOT technically minded so this will be VERY simple for the rest of you who fall into the same category.

OK - for the DSL portion of things - you need to have a blue ethernet cable going from the internet port of the Vonage box to the E1 port on your DSL modem. You will also need to have a yellow ethernet cable going from Ethernet 1 to the back of your computer. This is all provided you have a modem and router in 1. You should have a "dry loop" line set up through your old phone company, then put a phone cord from the DSL modem to your phone jack.

Now - one thing that it took me at LEAST 10 calls to Vonage Tech Support to understand is that the ONLY phone that is going to ring is the one that is hooked to the back of the Vonage Box - Phone 1. You will need to get an expandable phone system if you want more than one phone to ring a time. (Actually I found that one out in talking to Verizon Online as I was way too frustrated with Vonage :angered: )

As for the DISH - this is VERY easy - although again it took me several calls to figure it out! Under the phone setup on your DISH system you will want to set up a prefix of *99. Then put a regular phone splitter into PHONE 1 in the back of the Vonage box and use 1 port for your regular phone and 1 for your DISH network. Voila it works. :-D

What a hassle - everything is very easy but the tech support people who didn't understand anything that wasn't on the script were NOT helpful! I am REALLY glad that this is saving me so much moola otherwise I would say FORGET IT!

I hope this helps someone who is as frustrated as I was! :x If you have any questions please feel free to email me!

Dish Network DVR & Vonage

I'm fairly new to Vonage but have been lurking in this forum for a while doing some
I have the Dishnet 501 (Tivo equivalent) receiver and it works fine with the dialout
Also, the dishnet guide is downloaded off the satellite-not your phone connection.
You only need the phone line to purchase pay-per-view.
Vonage is working great on my Comcast 3MB/s connection. However, my Dish PVR cannot
If you have a 5xx series Dish DVR, I had great success with enabling the "wireless
The problem lies with the newer recievers like the 322 where you have to have it
I am also having problems with my Dish Network receivers. my DVR 522 trys to call
Same problem with my 322. My understanding is that Vonage is sending a different
Weird, because we have 2 dish 322s and they're both on different lines, never had
