Vonage I have had someone else answer my phone number twice now...does anyone have any
I have had someone else answer my phone number twice now...does anyone have any ideas to why this is?? it has me worried that someone is using my number as well? or Vonage is doubling up on numbers?
It only happens when my computer is off. So my phone isn't on.
The first time it happened, our power was out at home and my husband kept trying to call the house to get a hold of me. I wasnt home. He called my cell and told me the phone was acting funny and wasnt going to the answering machine. He said some guy answered and cussed at him to quit calling the number. Then the other times it went to a voicemail box that said it was not set up yet. We got home to find our power was out. Didnt think much about it again, until this morning. the computer was out and I was calling my internet company to get help to get it back on. I was on my cell phone and when I dialed my phone number as prompted I accidently hit talk so it put me through to a 3 way call. Some guy answered and was confused sounding, asked who I was, I said my name and said I was trying to contact my internet provider and he said I had the wrong number..I said ok and hung up but saw that on the cell phone was my "home" number. So I know I didn't accidently dial a wrong number. its the number stored on my phone...I tried it again and it went to the voicemail saying my box was not set up..my internet came back on, my phone worked and all was fine.
Could someone else have my phone service when my internet isnt working???? or are they tapped into my service somehow?? They are obviously annoyed or confused with our calls considering he cussed at my husband that day.
Can anyone explain why this is?? I am really concerned about this and ready to get rid of Vonage. thanks in advance!
