Vonage I have a new home that is wired in every room for both rj11 on one wall and rj45 on another
I have a new home that is wired in every room for both rj11 on one wall and rj45 on another wall. Of course, each room the best place for a phone is not always near the rj11 jack, but rather the rj45.
I have a patch panel for all the phone lines, with IN and OUT rj45 jacks. (http://www.elanhomesystems.com/product/sw/th48.asp) All of the rj11 jacks hardwires to the panel work great. All of the rj45 jacks I have are terminated with rj45 male plugs. I can plug 1 line into the OUT jack on the panel and it works fine. I tried plugging a hub (not a switch) into the OUT and then plugged in a few of the rj45s. No dial tone.
Any thoughts on what I can do here? I'm guessing something like http://www.elanhomesystems.com/product/sw/th412.asp would work, but it seems overkill for only 2 or 3 lines.

• What you tried to do with the hub ought to work, so I'd try to figure out why it didn't
• If you plug a phone into the out port on the TH48 and get dial tone then purchase a
