Vonage I have a few question for anyone out there who might have been through this or knows

I have a few question for anyone out there who might have been through this or knows how to help me out.

First off, I just fell and shattered my right foot and had to go through surgery. I have 3 screws now in my foot and 2 rods coming out of my skin which go through bones.... Anyhow, that now means I cant work so as you guessed, money is EXTREMELY tight. I don't have health insurance and am now faced with a $40,000 bill for the surgery.

Anyhow, my wallet was stolen a month or 2 ago so I had to cancel all my credit cards and have them replaced. Well I never got around to getting the new credit card number entered so today my service was temporarily canceled. Well I went to my dashboard and it asked me if I wanted to make a payment to make my service active. My bill it told me was $61.18. I agreed to pay the amount and entered my newly replaced bank card. Now my service is working again.

I decided to take a look at my bill and just noticed that after the payment of $61.18 it says Thank You. After that it then has an additional charge added to that new Bank card of $9.99. I was never notified of this nor did I authorize it. I was totally unaware of this and am not quite sure what the charge is for.

What really pisses me off is the most I have ever used in a month is 445 minutes. I want to drop down to the basic plan but refuse to pay them $9.99 for the switch. Especially if I end up going over 500 minutes and want to switch back, they'll charge an additional $9.99. I cant afford these extra charges. That extra charge could have been to drop me to the 500 minute to save money but yet it seems to have gone for nothing and I STILL pay $30 a month.

I love my Vonage, don't get me wrong. But I simply cant afford it at the moment at $30 a month. They advertise only $24.99 a month and slide in those extra federal charges like they do with cell phones. It is really getting to the point where I need to cancel this because I cant afford it. I am locked into a 2 year cell phone agreement and my cell phone hardly works here at home so I need this Vonage line. My Vonage simply always works. My cell phone drops almost every call. I have spent hours on the phone with AT&T Tech Support and they cant make it better. I have to make the AT&T phone call on the Vonage line cause I cant keep tech support without being dropped. But yet they wont release me from my contract without charging me around $300. I cant afford $300 and refuse to pay when they aren't upholding their agreement. I have 2 cell towers within 2.5 miles in either direction of my home. They say I live in one of the areas with the strongest signal yet I cant keep a call or keep signal. Thats a whole other issue however.

Anyhow, I plan on calling Vonage tomorrow during the day and complaining first off about that $9.99 they slid in on my Bank card without notifying me. I want to also explain to them that I love their service but I simply cant afford it.

Sorry for such a long post but I am now FINALLY to my question for you guys and gals. What hidden from the public options can they offer me to keep me as a customer? I have read months ago that there is a $4.99 a month plan and also a $9.99 a month plan. I would like to know the truth about this so I can be educated when I make the call. I am not trying to take advantage of Vonage. I simply cant afford it. I LOVE my service however. Getting it up and running was a nightmare as Vonage's servers were being redone and were offline so It took them almost a WEEK to make it so the dial tone I could hear would accept the numbers I was dialing. They took my money and yet I had no service for a week......I read back then on these forums about the lower rate plans and thought about calling in then and trying to cash in....But my conscious got to me and I decided to not make the call....Now though the tables have turned.Conscious doesn't play a role at this point as I don't have the money for real to pay all these bills. With this shattered foot I am unable to work or even drive. Walking is hard enough....

If anyone could offer advice or ideas I would appreciate it. If you want to PM me to keep your suggestions discreet that would be just fine. I welcome any help that can be offered and really appreciate it.

Thank You in advance!!!!
