I have a Hughes GXCEBOT and tried several modem speeds (,#014 to ,#034) AND the NY 212 phone number trick (the Vonage support guy promised the 212 trick would work). No luck with any combination of the above.
In the end I got it working by just entering ",,*99" as the dialing prefix. I had originally set it to “,,,*99” as suggested early in this thread, but found the 3rd pause was too long and I got a rapid busy signal.
So just to recap:
TiVo Unit: Hughes GXCEBOT
Dial Prefix: ",,*99"
Area Code: normal for my area (919)
Phone Number: default number for Raleigh, NC (325-0429)
Other Config Items: None required (modem speed, location, etc.)
