I have SO been waiting for a topic like this to give you the router you need. Screw the Vonage stuff as your gateway; you need a REAL router. The one I just bought is a Linksys WRVS4400N Wireless VPN Security Router. Man, has it got some fun stuff. Here's some features for you:
Retail: $167.00 on amazon.com
Ports: 1 Uplink, 4 ports GIG-enabled switch
VPN endpoint with downloadable VPN client software for remote users. (Radius support too)
Wireless Modes: B/G/N
Intrusion Protection System (IPS) with upgradable definitions
Advanced Firewall with user configured ACL's (Access LIsts)
QOS, both port-enabled and application
Remote access from outside of network.
Email Alerts for IPS activity
Dimensions: 7"x7"x2"
Heat Generation: Low
Noise Generation: Low
I love this router and was willing to pay the price for the great features. I've had it up for 3 weeks now, with NO problems, and one reboot due to ISP outage. I installed a GIG Ethernet card in my PC and connected it directly to the router and WOW, the speed difference was great. Streaming audio/video runs well too, as I'm sure VoIP and web conferencing systems would as well. I really, really recommend this router as a gateway router.
