I had two lines with SBC, a main # and a second line fax #. My total monthly bill for both, including all taxes, ranged from $75 to $90 per month, and this was on SBC's "unlimited" plan.
Moving both of these lines to Vonage and porting my two numbers gives me a monthly bill of $39.90 ($24.95 + $14.95). I haven't received my first official invoice, having just signed up with Vonage, so I don't know if this $39.90 is inclusive of all taxes and fees.
If SBC had been close to Vonage's costs, within $10 or so, I probably would have stayed with SBC. By switching to Vonage, I'm hoping to cut my costs in half, which it appears I'll do.
Regarding Comcast, I do NOT have their cable service-sorry, Comcast, but DirecTV with TIVO kicks your ass-but I pay $29.99 per month for their Internet service. Per the above price chart, it looks like I'd pay an additional $44.95/month for their "Digital Voice" service. That's "only" $5 more than what I'm paying for Vonage, but I'm pretty sure that's for only one line. If I include my second line, my fax #, I'm sure it'd be at least $10 a month more for Comcast's "Digital Voice."
