Vonage I had to set up a prepaid account with MCI at 1-866-770-4896. I had to fax MCI a copy
I had to set up a prepaid account with MCI at 1-866-770-4896. I had to fax MCI a copy of my Voip bill with my address on it. Once my husband attempted to call me -MCI unblocked my Account- . My husband and I were able to talk for a few months. MCI sends out a monthly bill. Even though my bill was prepaid. The MCI account representative didn't put my Apt. unit in my bill and the post man sent my bill back. MCI blocked my account. I had to fax MCI a copy of my bill again. MCI unblocked my account for one day. Then, blocked it again because they realized I live in a different state than where I receive calls from and I don't have a phone number with the prefix from the state I live in. They had me fax them a copy of another of my phone bill, a utility bill and my drivers license.
MCI decided to block my calls and never unblock them. I have filed a complaint with the FCC. Since doing that, MCI did call me to tell they won't unblock my calls because I am circumventing there billing structure. I have went back to the FCC with this because there is no Federal Regulation saying I can't have a phone number from the state where my husband resides to save money.
I'm hoping to get some resolution from the FCC. If they are unable to help me I will continue with the ETC campaign and hopefully get legislation passed to ease the expense on inmate calls and bring families closer together.
