I guess I can understand the tremendous curiosity, I seriously doubt I will try to hack my PAP2 that I am using for service. I've said it in other posts, but since I got that thing from a store and got service going in less than 15 minutes I have had no problems. So I don't want to ruin a good thing. But, I can understand someone getting a free one and tinkering. But once you have tinkered what do you really gain? Does it have features that Vonage is not activating? If it is to change service providers I am still confused. Why? Because using what Vonage recommended gave me zero problems I wouldn't want to try anything different. Wouldn't any other company have something similar? Maybe not. I don't know because I have only had Vonage. But something sure is making this PAP2 hacking a hot topic.

A bunch of you guys out there know a lot more than me about this newer stuff. Is there some way you can set up these things to work with each other and nothing in between? Stupid question, but I get to ask at least one if not a bunch more. I could see someone using two adapters and the Internet to have a private connection between their house and a family member house or something.

While on the subject of adapters I am also curious at the various different troubles and adapter discussions. I am beginning to think that having a separate phone adapter from my router and my telephone is a good idea. Lower investment and easy to change out what is broken.

I probably just burned all my luck with this one.
