Vonage I field tested the VT2442, and one of my negative comments about it was that there

I field tested the VT2442, and one of my negative comments about it was that there was NO WAY to make it work as anything but a router. [Correction, it was actually the VT2542 I ft'ed, which had wireless, but I suspect they both have the same problem.] As Dmills21 has noticed, the phone will only work on the WAN port , which must be on a different subnet from the wireless and LAN ports. The only way to "integrate" it into a home network requires that it be the main router, and everthing else then ends up on its LAN subnet. [ignore my WiFi comments below, they apply to the 2542. sorry] If you already have a network set up with another router, as far as I'm concerned, you need to use this as only an ATA and nothing else, and turn off the WiFi. You cannot use it in an existing WiFi network, because it won't be on the same subnet, which will cause wireless clients to go unreachable when they roam from the VT2442 to other access points. You could give it a different ID than other WiFi devices, but then, again, you cannot roam from one device to another. This is a major problem. Maybe a firmware update will come along that allows you to put it into bridge-only mode. But as it now stands, I wouldn't have one of them.

Setup of VT2442 to Operate as a Switch

Is it possible to change the VT2442 to be used as a switch and not a router? I know
