Vonage I currently have two of the older linksys vonage adapters and a bunch of PC's behind

I currently have two of the older linksys Vonage adapters and a bunch of PC's behind a Linksys BEFSR41 V1 router that I've had since 2001. Everything was working acceptably (needed resets once a month or so) until I upgraded the firmware on my linksys about two weeks ago. Since then, I've had garbled voice, and intermittent connection outages for a few minutes at least 3-4 times a day, where the cable modem seems to be working fine but I have no internet connection for a few minutes, or until I reset the router.

Everything connects to the BEFSR41 either directly or through switches and are on the same subnet. I don't have the option of putting the Vonage adapters first without doing a pretty serious rewiring job in the house.

I've tried a number of things since then, such as putting the old firmware back on the thing, putting the Vonage adapters one behind the other, giving the first one a static IP and putting it on the DMZ, but whatever I do I still get garbled voice. And the connection issues on the router haven't quit.

So I've basically given up and decided to look for a new router, with more features than the old BEFSR41.

After searching around I really like this SMCBR24Q router. I like SMC products in general, it has an SPI firewall, and QOS which could hopefully take care of my current voice quality issues.

However I haven't seen any reviews on this thing anywhere. Has anyone used this device with the Vonage service?

well if no one's used it with vonage, anyone have other recommendations on a good
The SMC Barricade routers need to have SPI and H.232 turned off in order for VoIP
Yep, can't go wrong with a Linksys WRT54G or GS, with one of the excellent 3rd party
I'm guessing my problems with the choppy audio come from the addition of SPI to

I don't have a VPN endpoint. However, here's the drill (in brief): WRT54G
