1. The ability to add extensions has turned Firefox into so much more useful a web browser to me. Image sooming, click-2-call within my web browser, and all the little extras, just make the experience so much more pleasant.
2. Security. No, I am not claiming that Firefox is 100% secure. But Firefox does not use the core system DLL's like IE does. Things like the image vulnerability that came out a few months ago slide right off Firefox because it does not access those system services. Security breaches in Firefox are generally limited to Denial of Service attacks (shutting down Firefox) rather than system compromise attacks ("May allow another person to access / take over your computer and steal data"), simply because Firefox does not have (or want) access to the core system execution modules. Firefox runs using an abstraction layer that makes it a lot harder to drill into the OS.
No, I don't watch digital TV in Firefox. When I want to watch digital TV, I'll start up a digital TV application. When I want to listen to streaming audio, I'll start up a streaming audio application. When I want to browse the Web, I'll start Firefox. ;)
