Vonage I bought an RT31P2 from Best Buy. I sent the following to Linksys Technical Support,
I bought an RT31P2 from Best Buy. I sent the following to Linksys Technical Support, but received an automated response with irrelevant configuration links.

Description of how you installed and set up your Linksys product
Comcast <-> Toshiba PCX1100U <-> RT31P2 <-> WRT55AG <-> PC's
Description of your technical difficulty
Buzz/hum on both phone lines of RT31P2 purchased 02/02/2005
- markedly reduced by mute button on phone
- markedly reduced by unplugging power to WRT55AG
- markedly reduced by disconnecting Ethernet between WRT55AG Internet and RT31P2 LAN
- does not correlate to RT31P2 power source
- does correlate to WRT55AG power source; buzz/hum sounds different (but not better) if WRT55AG is plugged into wall socket, unplugged UPS (non-sine wave) or PS Audio AC regenerator
- Plugging PCX1100U, RT31P2 and WRT55AG into same wall socket does not help
- Plugging PCX1100U, RT31P2 and WRT55AG into different power sources - wall socket, unplugged UPS and AC regenerator does not help
- no difference between phones (corded, cordless)
- no difference between RT31P2 firmware as shipped 1.20 and current 1.27
- no difference between Ethernet cables
- disconnecting Ethernet to PC's and PCX1100U does not help
- no difference between buzz/hum on phone line 1 and phone line 2
- phone line 1 is Vonage-activated
- phone line 2 is offline
- no difference if RT31P2 and WRT55AG are moved in relation to each other or other devices
- no difference if Wireless G and A of WRT55AG are disabled
