Vonage I assume that you're using house wiring and that the gate system is somehow connected

I assume that you're using house wiring and that the gate system is somehow connected via that wiring. Is that correct? If so, polarity is one issue to check. Depending on how the Vonage box is hooked into the house wiring, you can end up with reversed polarity. That may upset the other equipment.
