I am a bona fide, in-the-flesh, fresh to Voip, new Vonage customer.
I've already run into hardware issues with my brand-spanking-new, direct-from-Vonage, Linksys WRTP54TG. Now it may not be Vonage's fault that my router is bad, but it is a product I received directly from them and they should be able to help me resolve my issue or get me a new router.
After spending several hours on the phone with their "Customer Care" folks in India without resolution of my issue, I wound up quite frustrated. When three service specialists went through the same exact, troubleshooting script even though I tried to explain I had already spoken to someone and gone through the diagnostic process, I came to the conclusion that Vonage has some issues to work out in the CRM area.

Are you surprised that my experience has elicited some Vonage bashing? If so, you must be a far more patient person than I. Given my experience I think it inevitable that I would express some displeasure with Vonage (and Linksys-Cisco for that matter.)
However, as you may see in my post tn topic 10839, I did ask for help and gained some very useful information from other forum members. I am grateful to them and to this forum for that. Hoo-rah to the Vonage forums!
I think, by nature, forums will always be a place where people will express their opinions, the anonymity of cyberspace giving them a place to shout their anger or even to express their love of whatever subject they happen to be discussing. In my particular situation, being able to vent a bit actually made me feel better and cleared the haze of anger that had been surrounding me following my Tech Support experience.
I am not condoning Vonage bashing but I would like to say that a certain amount of it is inevitable. If by posting in this forum a person can get out their anger perhaps it will help them to step back to reassess the situation. So it was for me.
The only bashing that I would say should not be allowed in these forums is direct attacks against members of the forum but I'm sure that goes without saying.
So, for the record, I believe a certain amount of Vonage bashing in these forums can actually result in happy forum members.
I will be sure to update you on how my personal situation shapes up. In the meantime, thank you for the opportunity for allowing me to express my opinions.
