I added a wireless laptop to my configuration this past July. I did the same as you and asked for advice on this forum. 'Arcking' suggested the WRT54GL router (linux-based router). He suggested this router because you can run 3rd party software and it's a more powerful router. If you search the forum for my postings you can find the one that covered this. Follow his instructions. I did purchase the WRT54GL (Tiger Direct for $59 after $10 rebate) and am running 'thibor 15c code'. I ended up getting forum help from http://www.techguy.org/ site for setting up printer sharing, etc and http://www.linksysinfo.org/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=135 for additional router configurations. I could not have accomplished setting things up on my own but with the forums help it was a great experience. I could not be happier with my current configuration : CABLE MODEM>WRT54GL>RT31P2 Both my desktop and wireless laptop run off the WRT54GL and I use the RT31P2 for Vonage only. Good luck if you decide to go that route.
