Hmm. You could either go buy yourself a new telephone adapter, OR, you could add a second line promotion to the account, then, cancel the line after you receive your new device. That's a little sneaky, though, I guess.
You'd still have to pay for the new device, of course, but I think Vonage is the only place that sells the 2542 right now and they give you a pretty big rebate, like $40.00.
If you weren't interested in a wireless router, after a quick glance at their website looks like you could get a VT2442 which is a Motorola 4-port router for $9.99. According to their terms of service, remember, if you cancel within a certain time, you'll get hit with a rebate recovery fee.
My advice? Call in, get customer service on the horn, and see how much a second line would cost for a new adapter. Then, after you receive the new adapter, cancel the second line.
