Vonage Hi everyone. I'm not sure if anyone can be of any help but any advice on the matter

Hi everyone.

I'm not sure if anyone can be of any help but any advice on the matter below would be greatly appreciated as I can confirm Voip is not my specialist area.

Here is my situation:

1. I have a business in the UK, this business uses a BT business number/line and will continue to do so. The area code is for Reigate, Surrey (01737)

2. I have a home in France which I am in the middle of renovating.

3. I have a UK Vonage account with router (0208) extension (greater london)

Here is the solution I am after but I'm not sure of the in's and out's:

When in France, I wish to transfer my UK business number (01737) to my Vonage number (0208) (ideally, I'd like an 01737 Vonage number, but I’m not sure if available). Now I know through my BT line, I can divert my calls to another number when needed, so on that basis, I’m sure I can divert to the Voip number, as far as I'm aware.

I have read of people using the Vonage UK setup in France by plugging in their router but have not read anywhere about someone diverting a UK BT number to a UK Vonage number that is then used in France. Logically, I think it should work and this will then enable me to answer calls from my clients who call the UK BT number. However, what would the cost implications be? As far as I am aware, on divert I pay for the call from the BT line (my one) to what ever I have diverted to (e.g. a mobile). In this case, would it just be me paying for the 01737 number (bt) to the 0208 (voip) number each time someone calls? or would this be more expensive because I'm using the system in France and can BT pick up on this?

I know this all sounds pretty confusing but if any of the Voip members can help I would be so grateful!
