Vonage Hi everyone. First of all, thanks so much for this Forum. I have read many posts



Hi everyone. First of all, thanks so much for this Forum. I have read many posts and gained valuable knowledge. Now, here is my troubles.

I am starting a new business in September and trying to work all the bugs out of my Vonage service. The problem that I have is the people I call are hearing there own echo when they talk to me. Secondly, my voice gets choppy and cuts in and out according to the people I call. I always hear the caller just fine. Here is my setup:

Location = Williamston, MI
Cable ISP = Millenium Digital Media Cablespeed Residential
Speed = 1884kbps down and 239kbps up
setup = Cable connection to Toshiba PCX1100U cable modem. Ethernet line to Linksys WRTP54G. Also second router (RT31P2) attached to wireless router via ethernet port 2. 2 PC connected to wirless router and laptop via wireless connection.
Vonage service = 3 lines (business, residential and fax)
Phones = Uniden TRU8866 (also have a corded phone attached to fax)

Please if anyone can help or make a suggestion, I would appreciate it very much. As I mentioned, I can always hear the caller just fine. The problem is the caller complains about a hearing his/her own echo when talking and my voice that they hear will get choppy and cut in and out. When I call my own cell phone and listen on both phones, there is a noticeable delay between the time I talk from the Vonage phone to the time I hear my voice on the cell phone (1-2 seconds). The other way around is pretty instant. Of course, I also hear my own echo on the cell phone too. This has always been when I have not been on the PC at all. My bandwith saver is set to highest 90 on both of my lines.

A funny side note. I called tech support to complain about the echo and when talking to them, I could hear my own echo and I was using my cell phone. Hmmm....

The cable modem is the problem... to quote "reebok": there's your problem...pcx1100.
Thanks for the reply. I purchased a Motorola SB5120 to replace the old Toshiba.
Interesting... I would have suspected the PCX1100U I have with Comcast HSI as
I want to add one more thought...I had the same problem and it ended up being my phone.

Sure can since I bought 4 of them ...the base is MD760 and the extensions are MD70
Looks like the MD760 has been replaced by the MD761 . I just ordered a Motorola
