Vonage Hi Ok so just a few days ago our D-Link VTA device just stopped working, no dial

Hi

Ok so just a few days ago our D-Link VTA device just stopped working, no dial tone, however the phone rings when an incoming call is made.... but when we pickup the phone it is dead (the ringing stops) ... when we put the phone back down the ringing starts again until the caller decides to quit.

After consulting with Vonage technical support, they sent out a new D-LINK VTA...... same problem still occurs!! - they report that the VTA is loggining into Vonage correctly and everything seems fine from that point.

Now one would think, change the phones right? - well I did !!,

I've used:

A DECT handset (digital phones with a base station)
A standard phone

I am in the process of finding another phone to try because I am wondering whether it is by sheer coincidence that both phones are screwed somehow?

Maybe the original VTA malfunctioned and sent some kind of spike to my phones when I was trying both of them to get the line working (even though the line was technically fine).

Just wondering if anyone else here has come accross such strange issues.

Even Vonage seem baffeled!
