Vonage Reviews

Vonage Hi, No need to be rude. I have lived in the UK for 30yrs. I have NEVER HEARD of NGN.

Hi,
No need to be rude. I have lived in the UK for 30yrs. I have NEVER HEARD of NGN. Never! Surely thats simple enough to understand.

Thats almost as daft as asking if anyone understand what the Routing transit number on their bank account is. Everyone knows there is one but how many people know the breakdown. I do but I'm in that job.Just because you understand it is obvious for you, not everyone else.

Also the number I have called is not one that is listed in the above as a NGN number!

How on earth is a regular customer supposed to know 1 etc is a landland number I never knew that and where does it say only 1 etc are free. I've even looked where does it say that?

All I'm thinking and hearing here is/are Vonage employees? Sorry if you come across like that but it does sounds that way. Why not learn from this and perhaps make things clearer on the site. If I was on the receiving end of this complaint I would think. This guys sounds reasonable, he is trying to make a point and perhaps it ISN'T clear to the average consumer in the street.

Sorry I don't know everything about everything. Do I have to do a wikipedia on everything I do in life before I proceed. Sorry but that is a total joke!

If I'm told all calls are free except the ones listed then I assume ALL calls are free unless they are listed. It is not listed SO I assume they are free. Perhaps I'm TOO trusting that people selling me this actually know their product and are telling me the truth!

So...
I was told I had to pay the charges as apparently NGN numbers are not free. WHERE does its say that AND what is NGN. I have phoned friends and family no one has heard of NGN. My brothers work at Vodafone and Orange and they do not know what NGN is.

In short.

1) I was told one thing and which is not totally true.
2) No one in my family/friends know what NGN is
3) My friends and family do not know whether their number is NGN
4) I don't do a wikepedia on everything in life. I'm not as sad as some people who state I should do that on this posting. How impracticial and get a life to be honest.
5) I don't see where they have stated for the number I dialed I should be charged 51c a minute. I do have and email stating all charges are free to the UK with the exception of the ones listed!

Yes a lesson learned the hard way and an ex-customer (soon to be) of Vonage.

All I keep hearing is THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS WRONG, FIND A WAY TO PROVE IT.

BAD customer service

No it's not. As I said above, the numbering scheme really is quite simple. Furthermore,
- Just had my first billing error, so far $36 plus taxes. Did they care? NOOOOOO
What kind of billing error did you have?
Hi, I phoned a few numbers in the UK which I was told were free. Apparently anyone
If you've lived in the UK that recently I'm surprised you are not aware of the concept
I was going to suggest that maybe they were dialing a cell phone (mobile in the U.K),
No it was not a mobile number. So phoning the UK is a bit of a gamble! I suppose
I would call Vonage back again and talk to someone different. I have called customer
Did you even look on the international rates page? NGN is clearly listed there
Hey great work, I think this is now solved, a lesson learned the hard way.
