Vonage Hi Nate, Thanks for your help... the page you linked me to has really good information

Hi Nate,

Thanks for your help... the page you linked me to has really good information on it... thanks for sharing that. Unfortunately, I looked through all of the pages that are available on the VT1005RB, and I don't see any options for disabling DNS proxy. I did specify my DNS servers to be two of the 4.2.2.x servers, and that does appear to have solved my outbound DNS issues.

I'm seeing a really odd issue now, though. I can get out to the internet, but when I type in the DNS name for my server that's located in my own LAN (and, thus, located at the same IP address that the 'net sees), I can't reach the server. The connection just times out. I also can't ping the DNS name (i.e. "ping my.domain.com"). As I mentioned, my network setup is Netopia DSL Modem -> VT1005RB -> D-Link router (DI-524) -> LAN (PC's & 1 Linux server). I have the D-Link router listed in the DMZ on the VT1005, and this setup has worked before. (I checked my D-Link router, and disablign DNS proxy isn't a choice on any of those admin screens, either.)

Thanks for any help you can provide on this issue.

I suspect that your Vonage device is employing a DNS Proxy Server. The WRTP54G

Yes, it's a public domain. You can try it yourself... http://jhortman.ods.org
