Vonage Hi. Morgan. A couple of things, here. 1. The WRTP54G should work just fine

Hi. Morgan. A couple of things, here.

1. The WRTP54G should work just fine behind a WRT54G. That's the way I have mine configured. Have you tried using a telephone on it configured that way?

2. In order to configure the WRTP54G, if you have it set up on your WRT54G's LAN along with all the other devices, is to hook a computer up to it temporarily, then turn on "remote administration". That will mean that anyone on your LAN can type http://(WRTP54G-IP-ADDRESS):8080/ to administer the WRTP54G. Note that this IP address is the one that your WRT54G assigns to the WRTP54G.

Here is a network diagram that I think might help. It's a rough diagram of my network, though I have more than one computer. The goal here, ironically, is to stop using the WRTP54G as a network router. Your existing WRT54G is a far superior piece of hardware for that.

Plug a computer temporarily into the WRTP54G, and set up the following on it:

1. Static IP address outside the range of DHCP for your WRT54G (I chose 192.168.1.200 for this example).
2. REMOTE ADMINISTRATION turned on, port 8080 (or another port if you prefer, but my examples below assume 8080).
3. QoS, firewall, wireless, and everything else turned off (you want to free up as much memory as possible in the WRTP54G).

Unplug the computer from the WRTP54G and plug it into the WRT54G, restart the WRTP54G so it gets its new address. There is no need to forward any ports from the WRT54G to the WRTP54G - I don't have any.

From the PC connected to the WRT54G, type http://192.168.1.120:8080/ into a web browser. You should get access to the WRTP54G for administration/maintenance purposes. Once the phone line is working, though, you won't have much need to do this.

Why would Internet light not go on ?

I have a Linksys WRTP54G wireless router phone adapter. I can connect to the router
My guess would be that there's some subtle difference in the settings. Perhaps
So the exact same settings in the WRT54G and the WRTP54G would not work ? Would
Just connect your vonage adapter from its blue port into one of the free ethernet
Do you know anyone where you can test the router to eliminate the possibility that
your ISP may filter by MAC address... Or use pppoe.... or some other authentication
ColdGin, I followed your advice. Hooked the broadband into the WRT, then
Regardless of whether your ISP lets the WRTP54G connect to the internet, the blue
