Hi, I need help. I signed on to Vonage on Dec 11, 2005. I have not had a chance to use the service because it hasn't worked for more then one day (Dec 29). Below is the information regarding my setup. I sure hope you can help. I appreciate your time and consideration. Sue Lender 1. My location: Southern California, USA 2. Your ISP name and type: Charter Pipeline, Cable 3. Upload and download speeds: Download 1,486,776.bps ; upload 90,040 bps ; QOS 98% ; RTT 47 ms ; MaxPause 32 ms 4. Modem make and model: Motorola Surfboard SB4200 5. Type of Vonage adapter: PAP2 6. Setup of Network: Modem -> Linksys WRT54G -> port 1 -> PC, port 2 -> linksys PAP2 7. Issue you are experiencing: No dial tone. Had a dial tone when PAP2 was first activated, I activated it using Vonage website. Dial tone lasted approximately one day. Have tried using PAP2 without router, still no dial tone. 8. DETAILED results from www.testyourvoip.com with a test call to Boston. I can't seam to get a dial tone... :cry:
We'll try to help, but we can't do it in the dark. Start by posting the information
First off, have you tried re-cycling the whole system? If not, shut everything
If there is a firewall in the WRT54G diable it. Is this the X2? or x4? These have firewalls
I have re-cycled the whole system many times, but did it again, just in case. :?
Don't forget the packet discard issue. Calling Vonage is good, but I really think
