Hi, I hope I'm not intruding on this thread, but you guys seem very knowledgable. I am a new user, having received my phone adapter on Friday.

My situation is this: microwave internet connection - 400 kbs both ways (I think, never checked the upload rate, but seems adequate). I get a static IP from them. VT1000v. Netgear WG624T router.

I've had no probelms with modem to router to PCs. Since getting the VT1000v I've managed to get phone and internet access at the same time in only 1 configuration - modem to VT1000 to PC -with the VT1000 using the static IP on the wan port, providing DHCP on the PC side, and the PC expecting it.

I can't get the router to work downstream of the VT1000. I've tried having the wan side of the VT1000 set to DHCP (didn't think that would work), and tried letting the VT1000 keep the static IP, but have DHCP turned off (hoping it would pass through the static IP) but then the router never gets an IP. With the DHCP turned on on the VT1000 the router gets the .100 IP, but I can't seem to get any traffic through the router and out to the internet. I guy at work suggested I disable NAT on the router, but I don't think thats an option on the one I have.

I've also tried hooking the WAN port of the VT1000 into one of the PC ports on the router, expecting DHCP, with the router set to provide it, but the VT1000 never gets assigned an IP as far as I can tell. I've tried opening the documented UDP ports (both port forwarding and port triggering separately).

I am feeling like a total idiot here. Any ideas, please?
