Hi,

I have been a Vonage customer since April 2003. At that time, I was not charged for the adapter but was charged an activation fee and subject to a termination fee. For some reason I no longer remember, it was my understanding that the activation and termination fees actually represented the adapter cost so it wasn't really free, but that if at any time it died it would be replaced no problem.

Three years later, the TOS is quite different and I don't know how the new rules apply to me. In October my ATA died and I was sent a replacement adapter. I was charged $99 but when I called they credited the amount back to my account (but not my credit card, not cool!) They couldn't tell me why I was charged and so many things went wrong with the transaction that I can't speculate if I really was supposed to be charged or it was just a glitch.

What happens if this new adapter dies? Is it now subject to a warranty and I'm on my own if it dies after the warranty period? If I cancel service do I have to return it? I guess I'm no longer subject to a cancellation charge because I have been a customer for more than a year, correct?

I'm very confused and appreciate any help someone can give me. Thank you.
