I had sent a PAP2 adapter to my father in Hyderabad, India along with a Linksys 5 port ethernet switch. Now we followed all the instructions in the documentation provided and downloaded from the vonage website. I went thru the trouble shooting steps too but haven't been able to figure out the issue here. we power on the DSL modem to begin with, then ethernet switch. We check the internet connectivity on a PC. After this we power on the phone adapter.
The power light Blinks and the internet light is stable. the phone 1 light never turns on as it is supposed to.
Using the Interactive Voice Response Menu, I found the IP address of the adapter (192.168.15.254 default). The IP address of the PC is 169.254.26.7 and My gateway IP address is 59.93.80.97 (dynamic). The gateway IP address on the adapter is 0.0.0.0. I figured this could be the issue and disabled DHCP. after this I set the IP address of the phone adapter to 169.254.26.5. This worked. After this I tried to set the gateway IP address to the same as the computer but wasn't able to. even though I enter the IP address and save it, it always saves it as 0.0.0.0.
Any suggestions on how to resolve this would be appreciated
