I get "line error" most of the time when sending out faxes on my vonage fax
Hi,
I get "line error" most of the time when sending out faxes on my vonage fax line. Fax do not get through or only some part before the "line error" shows. Receivers only get the fax header. Some number keep having the error (most of them), only a few numbers are fine.
Sending out faxes on regular ground lines is ok. Receiving faxes with vonage is ok. Calling the fax number with the fax handset gives the right beeps.
I have a dedicated fax line (small business account)
(I tried sending with the main vonage phone line with same problems)
Motorola Vonage device (2 years old)
Sharp FO-775 (6 years old machine)
Linksys router (6 years old)
I never had any problem sending out VOIP faxes with this fax machine with my previous hight speed supplier(cable with Vonage). I recently moved and I'm now on Wireless High speed. I'm located less than half a mile from the antena with clear sight. Phone communication has never been this good. It used to lag and echo with the old supplier. Why is the fax not completely sending the faxes??
I have tried all the trics, including *99, low resolution setting and turning off error correction. I tries an ADSL filter and tried several phone wires.
I was not using the Linksys rooter with the cable provider and I cannot remove it now since rooter is establishing connection via PPPoE.
Is there any way to tell the rooter to give priority to faxes? Firewall? Voice calls are all very clear and I do not think I have a problem with the rooter.
I cannot lower the bault rate on the fax, it is automatic. At least the manual doesn't say anything about it nor VOIPfrustration.com
I really did check everything online regarding this problem. Any idea would be welcome. I migt have to call Sharp or Vonage but I would prefer not to wait an hour to speak with their off-shore support team.
I would buy a new fax if I was sure it would work.
Any ideas of were the problem might be?
