Hi,

Here is my problem - looks like my wireless network lasts only for 3 - 3.5 hrs. After that the wireless router goes off [even if the power supply is on].

Location: Salisbury, NC
ISP provider: broadband service by Road Runner [Time Warner Cable]
Vonage Router: Motorla VT2442
Current setup: cable modem -> Vonage router -> laptop [thru ethernet cable]

All has been fine [phone, internet] till the day I decided to use a wireless router. I currently have only one laptop and will be getting a new one this weekend. So decided to buy myself a Netgear WGR614 v6 wireless router.

Did the installation as per the installation guides: modem -> netgear router -> Vonage router -> phone. Laptop internet connection was wireless. Everything seemed to work but after 3 - 3.5hrs the Netgear router went off [even though power supply was on].

After searching thru this forum reconfigured network in this order: modem -> Vonage router -> netgear router. This worked but only for the same amount of time. Restarting tne network didnt help.

After seeing some more posts today, tried the Option 1 ideal config suggested by one of the sr members: cable modem -> wireless router -> Vonage router. Also in the wireless settings LAN IP setup reserved an IP address for the Vonage device [thinking that it will be the mentioned static IP]. But that didnt work either.

Called up Netgear tech support and they say there isnt any issue with the wireless router per se. Am I missing something during the setup? Is there any timeout option that I should disable/ make it as infinite?

Its been a miserable 3 days after I bought the router. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
