Hi Guys,
I'm frustrated with Vonage and there seemingly dense customer/technical service. I'm a first time Vonage customer and am having trouble getting through to them. Maybe I'm wrong (.. and dense!), and would like to get some help from the more knowledgeable forum members.

First of all here's my setup:
ISP: BSNL in Bangalore
Adapter: Linksys PAP2 Adapter
Modem+Router: Huawei SmartAX MT841.

Initially I there was only the modem, and the PC had the IP address assigned. So when I bought the adapter, I had registered the adapter and its MAC address. Subsequently I bought a Huawei SmartAX MT841 DSL modem with a 4 port router built in.

I called up Vonage to give them the MAC address of the router (which I believe is what Vonage actually sees).
They tried to register that MAC address and their system wouldn't recognize it as a valid MAC address. They said they have a database of standard/approved Vonage devices and they'll allow only those MAC addresses to be registered.

Am I being stupid or am I doing something wrong here? Which MAC address should I register with Vonage? The adapter or the router?

I've been a member for over a month and am desperately trying to get a dial tone! Would someone kindly help clarify this issue? What exactly am I supposed to ask Vonage?

I did search through the forum for issues concerning MAC address swaps. Apologize
Vonage only cares about the MAC of the Vonage device. As long as they can "see" your
SInce the adapter is inside the 192.168 subnet they won't be able to see the adapter
The PAP does not care that it is behind a router. It will "call home" on it's own,
