Vonage Hi Folks, I have made 6 separate phone calls to Vonage tech support now with

Hi Folks,

I have made 6 separate phone calls to Vonage tech support now with absolutely no success. Not only did they only read the script in front of them on their screen but the communication skills were pretty bad. I am really hoping you all can help me out. For the most part my Vonage is working well. I can make outbound calls and the sound quality is just fine. It is the inbound calls that I have issues with. The phone will ring once and then disconnect the person calling and will never make it to voicemail. I know it sounds like an inbound port issue. Let me describe my setup for you here.

Comcast Cablemodem ISP with Motorola Cablemodem box
D-Link DIR-625 Wireless Router connects to cable modem and gets my external IP.
DIR-625 hosts the DHCP service with IP Range of 192.168.0.100-200.
Some things such as my RT31P2 and Xbox 360 (which works fine) have hard coded IPs. The Vonage box is at 192.168.0.20. DHCP is turned off on the Vonage box.
In the DIR-625 I have port forwarding setup to the Vonage box. The ports are 21,53,69,80,123,2400,5061 UDP in one line and 10000-20000 UDP on a separate port forwarding line.

Now, based on what I understand from portforwarding.com etc etc this should work correct? The inbound ports listed above should now be forwarding to the Vonage Box ip address correct?

Now this is what gets me. When I have the cat5 cable plugged in from my DIR-625 to the internet port on the RT31P2 I can ping the Vonage box by IP address but I can not make any calls. No dialtone. BUT, if I plug the cat5 from the DIR-625 into a hub port on the RT31P2 I can make outgoing calls but I can't ping the 192.168.0.20 IP address assigned to the Vonage box which leads me to believe that of course the port forwarding will never work.

Ideas? What the heck am I doing wrong here?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can't you turn on the DMZ for 192.168.0.20?
Unfortunately no. I am a remote worker for my job and already am using the DMZ feature
Looks like in my experience, DHCP won't accept ping requests going to 192.168.0.20... Can
I guess I can try it but what will I get from a Dynamically assigned IP that I won't
Well, if you have setup the RT31P2 as a dynamic IP address and connect it to a cable
This won't work. When I put the RT31P2 between the cablemodem and the wireless
